How To Validate Email Addresses

Overview

Validating email address can help improve your email marketing campaigns by have a cleaner and more accurate email list.  Validating email addresses on a regular basis is highly recommended.

• There are numerous validating services and software applications available on the market.  It is recommended to perform a web search and select the service or application that suits your needs and budget.
• Most services and applications will require a file containing your email addresses, often in a comma delimited text file format.  To obtain such a file from XenDirect:
  • Go to Admin Menu >> Client Functions >> Export Clients
  • Select the search parameters and export fields desired.  Most likely you will export only the client email address field, but the service or application you select may request more information.
  • Save the file in the format required for the service or application you selected to validate the email addresses.
  • Validate the email addresses using the instructions provided by the validation service or application.
