Two Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is when a user must provide two or more pieces of evidence to verify their identity to gain access to an app or digital resource. MFA is used to help protect against unauthorized logins by ensuring that digital users are who they say they are. For MFA, XenDirect has a two factor authentication process.

When enabled:

  • Users will enter their username and password to log in to the Admin Module.
  • The user will then be presented with a prompt to enter a code.
  • The user will also receive an email with a code to enter to complete the login process. The email address recorded in their user record is the email used for this notification.

Note:

  • User record must contain a valid email address that the user has access to.
  • Users should check their spam/junk folder for the authentication code email.
  • The authentication code email will be from info@xenegrade.com.
  • The authentication code does not have a time limit. However, expect that by the end of January 2024, the authentication code will only be valid for 10 minutes.
  • Authentication is set per branch in a multi-branch site.
