Partial Pay / Minimum Deposits / Zero Pay

If enabled, this feature allows a client to pay an amount less than the full amount due but still requires a minimum amount for a deposit.

When enabled, the client will have the option to enter an amount from the minimum to the full amount due.  The amount due is displayed on the cart before the client enters a payment method.  When enabled, the amount field is an input field.  When not enabled, the amount field is a view-only field.  The amount field will always display by default the full amount due regardless of this setting.  The client must change the amount to pay an amount less than the full amount due.


To Enable a Minimum Deposit

  • Go to the Admin/Security > Settings > Web Options.
    • Enable Min Payment:  This switch enables the option for clients to pay less than the total amount due when purchasing via the WebReg module.  If Enable Min Payments = Yes, the feature is enabled.
    • Allow Min Payment:  This setting determines which clients will have the option to access the minimum deposit option.  The Enable Min Payments field above must be set to = Yes for the Allow Min Payment to be recognized.
      • If Allow Min Payment = All, then all clients will have the minimum deposit option.
      • If Allow Min Payment = Approved, then only clients with enough credit available will have the minimum deposit option.  The available credit limit is set in the Client Profile.
  • Go to the Fees of the Course Section desired.
    • Minimum Greater Than Zero:  In the Course Section Fees, check the Allow Minimum Payment field and enter the allowable minimum payment in the Minimum Payment amount field.  The client will be allowed to register for a course section with a minimum payment.  The client will still have the option to pay the full amount but is offered a minimum payment option.
    • Minimum of Zero:  In the Course Section Fees, check the Allow Minimum Payment field and enter zero in the Minimum Payment amount field.  Additionally, set the Allow Zero Pay in the Course Section WebReg tab = Yes.  The client will be allowed to register for a course section without making a payment.  The client will still have the option to pay the full amount but is offered a no payment option.

To Allow Zero Payment

The [Allow Zero Pay] field in a Course Section allows a client to register without making a payment.

  • If set to Yes and all Fees for the section are set to allow a minimum of zero, then a client will be allowed to register for a course section without making a payment. The Client will still have the option to pay the full amount but is allowed to register with no payment.
  • The Web Options [Enable Min Payment] must be set to Yes and [Allow Min Payment] set to either Approved or All.  If set to Approved, each client will be required to have an Approved Credit Limit high enough to purchase the course.
