Creating column reports is a fast and easy way to build reports for many of your daily reporting needs. However, column reports are limited in their ability to structure the layout in any format other than a grid. Using Form Parts, you will now learn how to use InSight to create reports where you have the control of the placement of the data just about anywhere on the page.
One of the key skills needed when using Form Parts is a knowledge of HTML. The use of HTML in the Form Part design is crucial to a successful outcome that meets your needs and layout demands. The level of HTML expertise needed will vary based on the complexity of the outcome you are trying to accomplish. A user trying to mimic an intricate application form may need more HTML experience than a user trying to design a certificate template.
Additionally, just as in any HTML document, the use of styles will improve the efficiency of your design. This is especially true when it comes to tweaking the form layout, fonts, and overall page formatting to meet a specific page display. Using styles will help you fine tune your Form reports.
The skills learned in this course will step up InSight report building skills to a new level and give you control over reporting your data in a way you may have not had before.
