Overview
The Course Section Calendar allows users to create a separate, individual calendar for each course section. This feature is useful for customizing schedules beyond the standard course start/end dates, times, and days of the week.
- Note: Adding a Course Section Calendar is optional. If the course section follows the default settings (start/end dates, times, days), this calendar does not provide additional benefits. However, if a calendar is created, it will take precedence over the default schedule for certain reports and features.
Course Section Calendar Details
- Multiple Variations: The calendar can contain as many variations of dates, times, locations, and staff as needed.
- No Limit: There are no restrictions on the number of dates that can be added to the calendar, and duplicate dates can be added with different times, locations, and staff.
- Non-Scheduled Dates: You can also add dates when the course is not held by unchecking the Scheduled field for those dates.

Adding Dates:
- Click the Add Calendar Date button to add a single date to the calendar.
- Use the Add Calendar Dates button to add dates in bulk based on the course section’s start/end dates, times, and days of the week.
Bulk Add Calendar Dates
The Add Calendar Dates function allows users to generate an entire calendar for a course section based on the course's start/end dates, times, and days of the week. This function also uses the master calendar to check for non-holiday dates.
- Note: If the master calendar is missing any required dates, those dates will not be added during this process. Ensure that the master calendar is up-to-date by visiting Admin Menu → Settings → Calendar.
To Create a Course Section Calendar:
- Go to the view mode of the desired course section.
- In the Action list, click the [Add Calendar Dates] option.

Overwrite Existing Calendar:
- Select Yes to delete any existing calendar dates and replace them.
- Select No to add only the missing dates. Duplicate dates will not be added during this process.
- Edit the newly created Course Section Calendar as needed.
