Calendar

Overview

Allows user to create a separate, individual calendar for each Course Section.

Details 

  • Adding a Course Section Calendar is an option and is not required.  If a Course Section follows the settings of the section's start date, end date, times, and days of the week, this additional calendar does not provide any additional enhancements except a date by date schedule.  If a Course Schedule Calendar exists, it takes precedence over the section's start/end dates, times, days and the master Calendar in some reports and features.

  • The Course Section Calendar can contain as many variations of dates, times, locations, and staff as desired.  Duplicate dates can be added with different times, locations and staff.  There is no restriction on the number of dates that can be added to the Course Section Calendar.
  • Dates the course section is not held can also be added to the calendar.  Uncheck the Scheduled field for dates the course section is not scheduled.
  • Use the New button in the calendar screen to add a single new date to the calendar.
  • Use the Auto Calendar button to add dates in bulk based on the section's start/end dates, times, and days of week.
  • Use the PDF button to obtain a PDF formatted document of the calendar.
  • If the Course Section Calendar exists, a view schedule link displays in the WebReg module.  This link produces a PDF document of the schedule including the contents of the Notes field.  The link displays in the Course Detail and in the MyAccount Registrations sections of the WebReg module.

Auto Calendar

This function allows the user to create an entire Course Section calendar based on the Course Section's start/end date, times, and days.  The master Calendar is also used during this process to check for non-holiday dates and must contain all the dates required for this function.  Missing dates in the master Calendar will not get created during the Course Section insert process.  See Admin Menu > Settings > Calendar


To create a Course Section Calendar:

  • Release 3
    • Go to view mode of the desired Course Section.
    • Click the [Add Calendar Dates] option in the Action list.
    • Overwrite Existing Calendar: 
      • Select Yes to delete any existing Course Section calendar dates.  
      • Select No to add missing dates.  Duplicates will not be added during this process.
    • Edit the Course Section Calendar as desired.
  • Release 2: 
    • Go to view mode of the desired Course Section.
    • Go to the Supplementals »» Calendar tab.
    • Click the AutoCalendar button in the calendar screen.
    • Overwrite Existing Calendar: Select Yes to delete any existing Course Section calendar dates.  Select No to add missing dates.  Duplicates will not be added during this process.
    • Current Section or Entire Section:  
      • Select Current Section Only to create the calendar for the course section currently being viewed.  
      • Select a Session to create a calendar for every course section tagged to the Session selected.  
      • The Overwrite Existing Calendar setting is valid for both Current and Session options.
    • Edit the Course Section Calendar as desired.
