Bundles

Bundles are courses grouped to meet one of the following goals:

  • Corequisites: Require registration of all the courses in the bundle if any one of the courses is added to the cart.
  • Subrequisites: Require registration of all the "Required" courses in the bundle if any one of the "Primary" courses is added to the cart.
  • CrossSelling:  Suggest other courses based on the course detail being displayed.
  • Pricing: Create a set of courses that can easily be registered for at the same time and have a bundled price differently than each of the individual courses.
  • Product Links:  Link recommended products to courses that display on the course detail page and can easily be added to the cart at the same time as the displayed course.

When purchased, the individual course sections and/or products are recorded as usual via Client Assignment records.  Client Assignments are tracked if purchased as part of a bundle.

  • From the WebReg module, the bundle purchase process is mostly automated based on the selections of the client.
  • From the Admin module, bundles are manually entered based on selections of the user.

Corequisite and Subrequisite Bundles

Corequisite and Subrequisite Bundles are grouped courses that require clients to register for additional courses based on the courses already in their cart.

  • Corequisite: Requires registration of all the courses in the bundle if any one of the courses in the bundle is added to the cart.
  • Subrequisite: Requires registration of all the "Required" courses in the bundle if any one of the "Primary" courses in the bundle is added to the cart.
  • If the client adds a course to their cart that has Corequisites and/or Subrequisites, the cart [Submit] button is disabled until all the bundle requirements are met.
  • If the client adds a course to their cart that has Corequisites and/or Subrequisites AND other required courses are not available to register, the client will not be able to register for the course.
  • If a Course Display (before adding to the cart) has Corequisites and/or Subrequisites AND there is also a bundle for CrossSelling and/or Product Links, only the Corequisites/Subrequisites list will display.  CrossSelling and Product Link bundles will not display.  This restriction prevents the course display page from displaying too much information that may confuse the client.

Pricing Bundles

Pricing Bundles are a set of courses that can easily be registered for at the same time.  Bundled pricing also allows for each course to be priced differently than each of the individual courses.

  • An optional separate menu is available to display the Pricing Bundles list on the WebReg module.
  • A client can select the course sections from the available list when viewing the bundle details.  If one or more course sections are not available for registration, the bundle will display but cannot be purchased.
  • A list of Pricing Bundles will display after the course section fees at the bottom of the course display page when a client is viewing the details of a course section that is also in a Pricing Bundle.
  • There are no requirements and/or restrictions on the client based on courses in their cart except that the same course section cannot be in the cart more than one time per client.
  • A client must be signed into their account to add a bundle to their cart.
  • A client may add a bundle for a Member.
  • When a client inserts a bundle into their WebReg cart, the fees displayed are the fees tagged as bundle fees.  These will also be the fees recorded in the client invoice.  These fees may differ based on Client Fee Group, if enabled, and could change display once a client logged into the WebReg module and/or adds a bundle to the cart of a Member based on the Fee Group assigned to the bundle and client, if any.
  • When adding a pricing bundle to a cart, the maximum quantity that a client can purchase will always be = 1 even if the course section allows a quantity greater than one.
  • If a client chooses to remove one of the bundled course sections from their WebReg module cart, the entire bundle will be removed due to possible pricing differences.
  • The Bundle Search and Bundle Detail pages each have user-defined Instruction Boxes available.
  • A maximum of 10 courses can be added to the bundle.
  • Course Section Fees can be set to contain a different fee for the bundled courses using the [Target Fee] field in Course Section Fees.
  • Restrictions on Pricing Bundles and Course Sections in Pricing Bundles:
