Overview
Sakai is open source Learning Management System software. Sakai is developed and maintained by people who either work in, or serve the Higher Education sector. The Sakai code is freely available for anyone to download. It carries a license that grants users the right to deploy, modify and distribute the software at no cost and for any purpose.
For XenDirect customers who possess an active Sakai system, the XenDirect Sakai integration makes the task of managing the Sakai courses and registrations much easier. The XenDirect Sakai integration performs these functions:
- Allows course offerings in XenDirect to be tagged as Sakai course sections.
- Electronically sends registration information from XenDirect to the Sakai installation via an API.
- Sends an email regarding Sakai registration to the registered client.

Sakai Set Up Checklist
Use this quick checklist to determine if all the required settings to enable Sakai are complete.
[ ] Have URL, Username, and Password settings been entered into the Branch Profile >> Vendor table?
[ ] Are courses tagged as Vendor = Sakai ?
[ ] Do Sakai Course offerings have the Sakai Course ID in the Course Alt Course Code field?
[ ] Is there a Merge Text Email template set up called "Sakai Confirmation"?
