Search for a Report

There are several methods available to search for an InSight report. Before users can access InSight reports and dashboards, permissions must be granted to users in the same manner as other XenDirect features.

New Report Note: The InSight menu includes a 15-minute cache.  When new reports are added, it may take 15 minutes or longer for the reports to display in the InSight menu.

  • Search by Category:  This search method uses the existing organization of reports into categories and subcategories.

    • Go to InSight Menu > Reports.
    • Click on the Reports tab in the upper left.
    • Click on the Category name to display all reports for the category.
    • If subcategories exist, click the Category icon (small triangle) to display the subcategories.
    • This search method will display both pre-built XenDirect reports under the main category heading of "XenDirect Reports" and user-developed reports under the category "Local Reports".
  • Search by Keyword:  This search method uses a keyword to filter the existing menu of categories and subcategories.

    • Go to InSight Menu > Reports.
    • Click on the Reports tab in the upper left.
    • Select what report field to search on.  The default value is "All".
    • Enter a keyword into the [Search] box at the top of the report list menu. Searches are most effective when a single keyword is used rather than a phrase.
    • Click the hourglass icon next to the search box or use the [ENTER] key to submit the search.
    • The report list will filter and only display the categories, subcategories, and reports that match the search filter.
    • This search method will display both pre-built XenDirect reports under the main category heading of "XenDirect Reports" and user-developed reports under the category "Local Reports".
    • To clear the search, remove the keyword and click the hourglass icon next to the search box.
  • Search by Knowledgebase:  This search method uses the support center knowledgebase.
    • Go to the Support Center website in your browser.
    • Click on "Knowledgebase" in the navigation menu.
    • Go to the InSight Menu option.
    • Manually peruse each of the report categories for information about the report desired.
    • This search method will display only pre-built XenDirect reports.  User-developed reports will not display using this method.
    • Knowledgebase pages for prior existing reports will also display a link to the related new report.
