Overview

Canvas LMS is an open source Learning Management System software offered by Instructure Inc. Canvas LMS is released under the AGPLv3 license for use by anyone interested in learning more about or using learning management systems.

For XenDirect customers who possess an active Canvas LMS account, the XenDirect Canvas LMS integration makes the task of managing the Canvas LMS courses and registrations much easier. The XenDirect Canvas LMS integration performs these functions:

• Allows course offerings in XenDirect to be tagged as Canvas LMS course sections and sent to Canvas to create a shell.
• Electronically sends registration information from XenDirect to the Canvas LMS installation via an API.
• Sends a registration confirmation email regarding Canvas LMS registration to the registered client.

Canvas LMS Set Up Checklist

Use this quick checklist to determine if all the required settings to enable and use Canvas LMS integration are complete.

[ ] Have Account Name, URL, Username, and PIN settings been entered into the Branch Profile >> Vendor table?

[ ] Are courses tagged as Vendor = Canvas?

[ ] Have Canvas LMS Course Section offerings been published in the Canvas LMS system?

[ ] Do your XenDirect Canvas instructors have a user account in Canvas with an email address matching the email address in their XenDirect Staff record?

[ ] Is there a Merge Text Email template set up called "Canvas Confirmation"?

Clear Cross Reference

At times, the cross reference table that links XenDirect and Canvas due to duplicate email addresses. This function removes the Cross Reference record. The next time the clients signs

The function is available for Canvas sites only. The function runs for the matching client row when submitted.

• Release 3: Located in the GoTo list of the Client Results List.
• Release 2: Located in the More (...) list of the Client Results List.
  

After clearing, remove the Vendor Date from the Assignment, save, and resend the Assignment to Canvas.
