Approval Codes are text fields that require the client to enter specific text in order to add the course section to their cart. This feature provides an organization the ability to display course sections in the WebReg module but restrict the purchase of those course sections to those who know the exclusive Approval Code.

When an Approval Code is entered in either the Course Section or the Category for the Course, an Approval Code text box will appear on the Course Detail page next to the Add To Cart button. The client must enter a matching code here in order to add the course section to the cart. If no matching entry is made, the client will not be able to add the course section to the cart.

There are two different locations to create an Approval Code. Both a Category and Course Section can have an Approval Code and the two codes can differ. If a course section has both a Category and Course Section Approval Code, the client can add the course section to the cart if the code they enter matches either the Category or the Course Section Approval Code.
- Main Menu > Selects > Categories: If an Approval Code is entered here, all course sections matching this category require an Approval Code.
- Main Menu > Courses > Sections > Registration Settings: If an Approval Code is entered here, this course section will require an Approval Code.
