THEC Workforce Training

This custom report is designed for customers in the State of Tennessee based on a state-issued report request.

  • Only customers that have been enabled to view the report will see these reports in their Permission settings.
  • Only users who have been enabled to View the report will have access to run the report.

Preparing the Data for the THEC Reports

The THEC reports are made up of three different reports and contain all the information required for the THEC state report. Each report displays course sections grouped by DoL Clusters.

Enter the following data to prepare the data for display in the THEC reports. The fields must be completed to obtain an accurate and complete report.

  • THEC Workforce Training Report Hours
    • This report includes the information to complete the contact hours and headcounts.
    • Course Title: This column is pulled from the [Course Title] field of the Course records.
    • Length: This column is pulled from the [Total Scheduled Hours] field of the Course Section records.
    • Headcount: This column is a sum of the [Quantity] field from the Client Assignment records.
    • Contact Hours: The column uses a multiplication calculation of the [Length] and [Headcount] values.
    • DoL Cluster: This column/grouping is pulled from the [CIP Code] field from the Course records.
  • THEC Workforce Training Report Contract Courses
    • This report includes the information to complete the open versus contract courses. This report displays all course sections listed as Contract courses.
    • Use the Course Section Funding to identify course sections as Contract courses. Add Course Section Funding records with the Company Name as the Contract Company.
    • Course Title: This column is pulled from the [Course Title] field of the Course records.
    • Company: This column is pulled from the [Company ] field of the Course Section Funding records as linked to the Course Section.
    • DoL Cluster: This column/grouping is pulled from the [CIP Code] field from the Course records.
  • THEC Workforce Training Report Certifications
    • This report includes the information to complete the certification courses. This report displays all course sections listed with Certifications.
    • Use the Course Certifications to identify Course Sections as Certification courses.
    • Course Title: This column is pulled from the [Course Title] field of the Course records.
    • Certifications: This column is pulled from the [Certification] field from the Course Certifications records.
    • Company: This column is pulled from the [Certifier] field from the Course Certifications records.
    • DoL Cluster: This column/grouping is pulled from the [CIP Code] field from the Course records.

Running and Filtering the THEC Reports

The THEC reports contain several prebuilt filters. However, users can use the InSight Quick Edit feature to alter or add filters using existing fields available from the tables used to design the report. If a user desires to add a filter from a table not used in the report would require a custom-built report or the organization's InSight Pro use can copy and modify the report to meet their needs.

  • CIP Code: This filter is active but does not display. The report requires that a CIP Code is linked to a Course to display in all three reports. Without a linked CIP Code, the Course and related data will not display in the report.
  • Enrollment Status: This filter presets some status defaults. However, the user can easily alter the default selections. This filter displays for the "Hours" report only.
  • Start Date: This filter allows the user to set a Course Section start date range to include only Course Sections within the desired range.
