Campaign URL / Campaign Log

A URL redirect creation function designed for tracking clicks on URL links used in various marketing campaigns.  Creates a redirect URL that can track each time a link is clicked, and records basic information about the event. The Campaign Log provides a list and reporting option of the click results of Campaign URLs.  Use the following steps to create, implement, and report on a Campaign URL.

Applies To:    Enterprise    Plus   Conference

  • Go to Report Menu >> Marketing >> Campaign URL.
  • Click the New button to create a new campaign.
  • Campaign Name:  A unique name used for this campaign.  Required field.
  • Campaign Code:  This unique code is the identifier field used in the URL.  Enter any combination of letters and numbers without spaces.  Required field.
  • Redirect URL:  The full URL where the person will be redirected to such as http://www.xenegrade.com.  This is the final destination the user is navigating to.  Required field.
  • Description:  A description of the campaign.  Optional.
  • Save the Campaign URL record.
  • From the list of campaigns, click the Get URL button in the row for the campaign desired.
  • From the popup window, highlight and copy the encrypted URL.  Make sure to copy the entire URL.  Close the popup window.
  • Paste this encrypted URL at the location desired.  This could be a website, email, or other location.
  • This completes the set up process.  Once deployed, as a user clicks the URL, a record will be created in the campaign log.  The user is then redirected to the final destination URL.  The user only sees the final destination and not the campaign log step in the process.
  • To review the Campaign Log, go to Report Menu >> Marketing >> Campaign Log.
  • Search the log and run reports as desired.
  • Date:  The date and time the user clicked the URL.
  • IP Address:  The IP address of the user.
  • Referrer:  The web page that directed the user to the Campaign URL page.  This field will be blank if the referrer was other than a web page such as an email or other source.
  • User Agent:  The browser and related details of the user.
  • The report will group results by Campaign Name and provide a count of the records per group displayed in the report.
