Overview

List of assigned student work for the Course Section by the instructor.  Coursework can include homework assignments, quizzes, exams, projects, extra credit, or any task an instructor desires to record and/or grade a student on.  Once created, the user adds Course Work to Clients at Main Menu >> Clients >> Coursework. The Coursework feature can easily act as a grade book.

 

Details 

• There are two parts to the Coursework template: Subject and Coursework.
  

• Subject:
  • This is the parent record of all coursework records. The Subject is required.
  • Grouping: This is an optional field used to separate subjects in grade reports such as Semester 1, Period 1, Term 1, or similar.
  • Format: Using the Course Format selections, how is the subject offered.
  • Subject Hours: Total Number of hours for the Subject.
  • Subject Weighting: If grades are weighted by Subject, enter the % weighting for this Subject. Every record for the same Subject should have the same Subject weighting.
    
  • Group Weighting: If grades are weighted by Grouping, what is the weighting for this Grouping. Every record for the same Grouping should have the same Group weighting.
    
• Coursework:
  • Once a Subject record has been saved, click the view button to navigate to the Coursework content list.

  • Coursework ID is user defined and is a required field.

  • Coursework Category list is user defined and is a required field.

  • Coursework Weighting: If grades are weighted by Subject, enter the % weighting for this Coursework. The total of all weightings within one Subject should not exceed 100%.
    
  • Due Date is the date the Coursework is to be completed.
  • Description: Optional field to describe the coursework content.

This is an example of how the weighting fields could be used for one course. The example course is a Yoga Instructor Training course.

    • Coursework: Read Unit 1
• Subject: Connective Tissue and the Muscular Sytems - weight 20%
  
  • Grouping: Period 1 - 50%
    
    • Coursework: Read Unit 2 - weighting 10%
    • Coursework: Contemplation Exercise - weighting 20%
      
    • Coursework: Comprehension Quiz - weighting 50%
      
    • Coursework: Discussion Questions - weighting 20%
      
  • Grouping: Period 2 - 50%

Subjects sum to 100%. Within a subject, the Groupings sum to 100%. Within a set of Coursework, they sum to 100%.
