Featured, New, and Updated Courses

This display feature is used to bring attention to a new, featured, or updated course section.

Applies To:    Enterprise    Plus    Basic

To Highlight a Course as Featured

Featured courses display at the top of the search list when a client searches for courses from the WebReg module.  Featured courses do not display when a customer searches using Program Groups.

  • Go to Admin/Security > Settings > Web Options.  In the [Enable Select Features] field, highlight [Featured] in the list of options using Ctrl+Click.  Make sure not to unhighlight any existing selected features.  This step enables the Featured Course option and only needs to be enabled one time.  If disabled, Featured Courses are ignored in the WebReg module.
  • Go to WebReg Settings panel of the Course Section.
  • Featured Course:  Any text entered in the Featured Course field causes the course to display as a Featured Course.  There are two options.
    • If you add only the word "display" (without quotes), the course will display as a Featured Course without any additional text.
    • Any text entered other than "display" will cause the course section to display as a Featured Course and the text entered in the [Featured Course] field will display on the course detail page.

To Highlight a Course as New

  • Go to WebReg Settings panel of the Course Section.
  • Display as New:  If checked, the word NEW will display in red on the search results list and course details pages.
  • Expire New Date:  If a date is entered, the NEW text will no longer display after the date entered.  Otherwise, the NEW text will display as long as the course is set to display.

To Highlight a Course as Updated

  • Go to WebReg Settings panel of the Course Section.
  • Display as Update:  If checked, the word UPDATE will display in red on the search results list and course details pages.  If the course section is also tagged as Display as New = Yes, only the NEW option will display.
  • Expire Update Date:  If a date is entered, the UPDATE text will no longer display after the date entered.  Otherwise, the UPDATE text will display as long as the course is set to display.
