Overview

Proposed Courses is a method to allow creation of draft course ideas and descriptions without placing them in the active course table.  The Status field allows for tracking the process of a proposed course from submitted to copied.

In addition to the Admin module, proposed courses can be submitted through the QuickTools module.  The QuickTools user must have the Course Proposal feature enabled to submit a proposal.

• Most of the fields in the Course Proposal record are for use in the decision making process to offer the course.
• Once a decision has been made to offer the course, a user would change the Status to Accepted.  At that time, the Copy to Course button will display in the same row as the proposed course.
• Copy to Course button will copy the proposed course into the regular Course table.  The user must enter a unique Course ID when using this function.  The copy function will create a new Course record and copy the Title, Description, Category, and Format from the propsoed course into the Course record. 
• Once copied, the Status of the proposed course is automatically changed to Copied, and the copy button will disappear.
