Custom Certificates

Custom completion and participation certificates are a common request. There is no one-fits-all scenario for certificates because every request is unique. Use this guide to request a quote for Xenegrade to build a custom certificate.

Use this checklist to help determine what features you desire in a custom certificate. Please provide the needed information when requesting a quote for custom certificates.

  • Quantity
    • Will there be just one certificate layout or several different certificate layouts?
    • Please provide sample certificates.
  • Format and Layout
    • Do you use certificate paper with a printed decorative borders and/or seals? Decorative or fancy borders when printing may have limitations.
    • Is a non-border version needed to allow printing to specialty certificate paper?
    • Are there any graphics that will be printed on the certificate?
    • Are there any branding requirements that must be followed? (colors, fonts, sizes, layout, etc.)
  • Content
    • What data needs to be on the certificate(s)?
    • Sample copies may suffice for this.
  • Signatures
    • Will you desire digital signatures for the officials signing the certificate?
    • If yes, will the digital signatures always be the same or vary based on course section?
  • Printing/Distribution
    • Do you expect clients (students) to be able to print the certificate from the WebReg module?
    • Are there any restrictions who can receive a certificate? (grade, end date, status, etc.)
    • Do you want to restrict which users can print certificates from the Admin module?
    • Do you need to have the ability to prevent a client from accessing their certificate?
  • Ownership
    • After the report is completed, Xenegrade can maintain edit permissions for the report or change the edit permissions to one of your InSight Pro users. Future changes to the report by Xenegrade may incur a cost. Changes made by your InSight Pro user do not have an additional cost. However, you assume all responsibility for the report design at that point.
  • Is there anything else the report designers should know?

How does the process work?

Once you approve the scope of services, we schedule the development of the certificate report. When ready for review, the report will display under the InSight > Local menu. You can then provide feedback on changes that are required that fit within the scope of services. Typically, this back and forth review and edit process takes about two iterations. Any changes after approval may incur an additional cost.

After approval, the report can be made available to your users to print from within the XenDirect Admin module. If the certificate will be available to students via the WebReg module, that process begins now. That process usually that takes 1-2 days to complete. Students access their certificates via the myAccount > Registrations area of the WebReg module once they log in.
