Support Center Upgrade Scheduled for October 8-11

The Xenegrade Support Center is about to have a major upgrade. On October 8, we will start the process of migrating the data from the current support center application to the new one. Here are a few things to expect during this migration process.
  • Help links in R2 and R3 may be orphaned and not lead to the expected knowledgebase article. Those should be corrected by October 11.
  • Ticket submissions may be offline from about 1 AM ET on October 9 until about 7 AM ET.
  • The Support Center will have a more streamlined and cleaner look.
  • The Knowledgebase is being reorganized for faster and more accurate searches. Many articles are being rewritten to better cover Release 3. Most of Release 2 information will be removed. As much of this editing as possible will be done by October 11 but may require several more days to complete all the articles.
  • A new Suggestion option will be added. The current Release 2 Suggestion menu link will be removed.
Users do not have to do anything to prepare for this change. All the work related to the new support center falls entirely with our support team.

We are excited to launch this new Support Center. It has been in the planning stage for quite some time, and now that Release 3 is in its final stages of deployment, the new Support Center will be a great addition.
Release 3 Special Announcement Coming Soon

Over the past two months, we surveyed users about their transition experience to Release 3 so that we could understand the issues users are facing. Now that we compiled that data, we are taking that information and modifying our transition planning and programming over the next six months.

In October, we will release a special announcement regarding the Release 2 to Release 3 transition. Here are just a few of the highlights from that upcoming announcement.

  • An extension of the Release 2 deadline
  • Programming focus on performance in areas where loading is slow
  • Several free webinars focusing on the key areas users struggle within Release 3
Exports Already Exist in Release 3

Many users continue to ask when the export functions from Release 2 will be added to Release 3. They are already there but in a different location. Those exports are now available via InSight. Six different reports have been added following a similar design as Release 2.

Making the export feature a part of InSight has numerous advantages.

  • Pro users can copy the export report to add, remove, or move data columns as needed
  • All users can use QuickEdit to customize the filters to export
  • The InSight export process allows for more format options
  • Pro users can use the report designs as a template for future custom exports as needed
No longer will users have to request a change or new custom export. Using InSight, Pro users can create just about any export they desire for their organization.

Tip: Uploading Images Works Best Performed Alone

There are numerous locations in XenDirect where you can upload an image. Some of those locations have multiple panels, such as the Client record and the client photo. A good rule of thumb is to manage each panel separately as you edit and save data.

When it comes to records that have multiple panels, try to complete and save a panel before starting to edit another panel. Having only one panel in edit mode at a time improves processing time and prevents the possibility of data loss should something occur while multiple panels try to save at the same time. This is especially true of records that contain image files.

Tip: Control + Click Opens Record in New Window (R3)

Have you ever wanted to edit a record from your search list other than page one but after you edit the search list goes back to page one? Here is a tip on how to maintain your spot on the search list and still edit or view the record.

Before you click the view or edit button for the record, hold the [CTRL] button while you mouse click. The record will open in a new tab of your browser. Edit and save the record as needed. Then close that browser tab. When you navigate back to the original tab, you will still be in the same location on your search list.

This method works great when trying to edit several records in a row but those records are not on page one of your search results.
