New Features to Improve Branding and Visibility
 

Branding is becoming more and more important to organizations in an effort to help your customers identify your organization easily and often. Xenegrade has recently added two new methods by which you can brand reports that your customers most often see.

User-defined Embedded Reports
Several of the InSight reports that are printable directly from a Client's profile can now be set to print or email a user-defined version. For example, if your organization designed a different invoice format and does not use the XenDirect default invoice, you can change the settings to print or email your version of the invoice.

Logo on Receipts and Invoices
If you use the default invoice and receipt reports, you can now add your logo to both of these reports.

TIP: Understanding Caching on Select Fields
 
One of the many ways applications improve performance is to use caching. Caching is the process of storing data in a temporary storage area that facilitates faster access to data with the goal of improving application and system performance

XenDirect utilizes caching in some, but not all areas. It is most often used in areas that are not as often updated. This is most evident in many select lists and some data search results. Data such as accounts or payment types are prime lists for using caching because the data is not updated as often. However, data areas such as clients, courses, assignments, invocies, and payments are not cached because of the frequency of data updates.

The amount of time the data is cached varies, but is most often set to one hour. This means the data is only updated in the list about once an hour. Users will most often see this when they add a new record but it does not yet display in the select list. When that occurs, the user should just wait until the cache has reset. That wait may only be minutes depending on when the last cache was reset.

If there is an emergency where accessing XenDirect is unavailable during a time when the office is closed, submit a support ticket via the support center using the predefined emergency process.

  • News Email List: Join those who want to receive a notice whenever we post a news article. Be the first to know! You can subscribe here  . Once you opt-in, you are on the news email list until you decide to opt-out.
  • Status Website: If you have not seen or subscribed to the Service Status website , it is more important than ever to consider doing so. This website displays up-to-date server issues or scheduled maintenance that affect user access to XenDirect modules. One of the key features of the status site is your ability to subscribe to the automated email list. Every time an update is made to the status site, all subscribers will receive an automated email related to the status update.
  • Application Updates: Don't forget to check the Updates section of the Support Center. Whenever updates are made to any XenDirect services, a post describing the change, addition, or fix is made. Release 3 deploys updates about every two weeks. Other services are about once per month or as needed.
